From Wax Model to 3D Model
These works are faithful 3D model depictions of the original wax models that were sculpted during the live performances given by the portrait subjects. The wax studies are scanned by way of a process called photogrammetry so the works may be 3D printed and stored in digital archives. The photogrammetry scans can capture the details of our fingerprints imprinted on the wax surface of the heads, which makes this process a reasonable alternative to traditional mold-making.
